Dallas Cowboys WR Kevin Ogletree

Well I am guessing if your a football fan you see the game last night and know the Cowboys WR Kevin Ogletree stole the show.  The unknown WR Ogletree had a breakout night with 8 catches, 114 yards and hauled in 2 TD’s.  Those are pretty good number for an unknown WR and someone that just landed his first every TD’s in the NFL.  His fantasy value just went up a few spot and might turn out to be a nice sleeper, but I would not jump the gun yet unless you have room on your roster to store him away.  Keep your eye’s open on him, he might be the next Laurent Robinson for the Cowboys last year which means 800+ REC yards and 11+ TD which is what Robinson pulled off.

Matt Prater signs a new contract.

The Denver Broncos signed Matt Prater today to a new 4 year contact. This is great news for the Broncos and their fans. Also anyone his fantasy value as a kicker because Manning should be able to get him into position for more attempts then he has had in the last few season. When drafting a kicker a lot of people believe, ah its just a kicker they don’t matter, when in fact they can turn your whole match up around. I don’t jump the gun on taking a kicker, but I make sure I also land a kicker that is a little above average like Robbie Gould. I think I have drafted Gould in almost all leagues over the last few season for fantasy football. Anyway, watch out for Prater he is going to be a great option for your fantasy team at the kicker position.

It has been report that Kenny Britt will start running.  Well this is good news for him, the Titans and this fantasy owners in keeper leagues.  If you are a Kenny Britt owner, or even looking to pickup Britt in your draft I hope you keep good tabs on him.  If you did not know or don’t remember, Britt did tear his ACL and MCL last season vs the Denver Broncos.  Britt has had two surgeries on it to repair it and I am sure he is not near 100% yet.  Most players never are the same, unless you name is Wes Welker some how he became better and I am still lost on how that worked.  As most of you know this is a big deal and more so for someone like Britt in a WR position because all they do is run and cut which he will need that ACL and MCL to function.

Anyway, be careful about this one and if you own him in a keeper league I say drop him and then re-add him in later rounds.  The reason I say that is because I am sure you will be able to land him again in the later rounds if the rest of your league does their homework as well and skip on him.

Well today one of my favorite RB’s (Justin Forsett) in the NFL signed today with the Texans.  I know Forsett is not a top notice RB, but he can shine on a team if he is used right.  I think signing with the Texans was a bad move for him really because I do not see much playing time coming out of this.  The team already has Arian Foster and Ben Tate, and we all no neither is losing their job to Forsett.  Foster really has made something of him self and shines on each play, and for Tate he blow up last season after missing all of his rookie season to a injury.  Either way I think everyone will and should be skipping on Forsett this year for fantasy football, but make sure not to forget about him because Tate seem injury prone.

I think Karlos is one of those NFL players that also needs to get his head checked out by a doctor. The Miami Dolphins fall tied for 2nd place on my favorite NFL teams, but I know the Dolphins are not even making playoffs (a few reasons posted below).

1. No number 1 WR on the team, they are luck to even maybe have a true number 2 WR.

2. The team still seems unsure of Matt Moore (and the QB position will not do any good at all season since they have no #1 WR).
– I think they will rotate QB’s more then once this season, which never helps ask Brady Quinn, Derek Anderson and Matt Moore, Jimmy Clausen (Panthers in 2010 season) also Derek Anderson “again” and John Skelton (Cardinals in 2010 season).

3. Miami DE does not seem to have got any better during the off season so far.

Man I hope Miami can figure something out on both sides of the ball, but I don’t see anything good coming from them for fans or fantasy football players this season.

It has been reported that Hakeem Nicks’ has broken a bone in his foot.  Nick’s is scheduled to have surgery on it Friday, and could miss about 12 weeks.

This is pretty bad because this could affect him all season long.  Foot injuries are tough because any little thing can make it sore, re-break etc.  I have him in a keeper league so I may have to look elsewhere for WR help (my other WR’s are Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Wallace, Laurent Robinson, Doug Baldwin).  Nicks has put up solid number time after time and last season was not different (numbers posted below).  If you have Nicks in a keeper league or wanted to draft him, you will need to watch his status towards the end of pre-season because taking him higher this season may be a big risk.

Nicks 2011 regular season  stats:

Catches: 76 catches

Yards: 1,192

Touchdowns: 7 touchdowns

MLB Picks for Thursday

This is my MLB Picks for Thursday night. I don’t normally post other fantasy stuff besides NFL, but I have been board waiting for NFL to arrive.
